False Ceiling Ideas That Transform Any Room
Cove lighting, tray ceilings and acoustic panels — how a well-designed false ceiling changes the entire feel of a space.
A false ceiling is often the last thing clients think about and the first thing guests notice. Beyond hiding wiring and ducting, it is one of the most effective tools for shaping how a room feels.
Cove lighting — a recessed channel of LED light along the ceiling perimeter — creates a soft, indirect glow that makes ceilings feel higher and rooms feel calmer, especially in living rooms and bedrooms.
Tray ceilings, with a stepped, layered profile, add architectural depth to an otherwise flat plane and work particularly well over dining tables and centre-of-room seating layouts.
For home offices and media rooms, acoustic false ceiling panels reduce echo and outside noise while still looking like a clean, finished surface — form and function in one layer.
Our rule of thumb: design the false ceiling layout only after the furniture plan and lighting plan are finalised, so every light point actually falls where it is needed — over the island, above the bed, or on the artwork — rather than in a generic grid.
